Cottonwood Pass (County Road 306) crosses the Continental Divide between Buena Vista and Taylor Park. There is no camera on the pass; the nearest are on US 24 in Buena Vista, 15 miles east

Cottonwood Pass now: Closed (seasonal closure). Chance of Light Snow Showers. Expect up to 0.5 inches of new snow accumulation. Wind gusts of up to 29 mph are expected. CDOT COtrip, 6:55 am MT

Season: Closed for winter since Mon Nov 2, 2026. Last year it closed Mon Nov 3, 2025. Chaffee and Gunnison counties close it for winter in early November at the gate near the Denny Creek trailhead, and aim to reopen it before Memorial Day.
